The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Two volunteer positions are immediately available to support Southwest Washington Red Cross: Grant Researcher and Graphic Designer

A Grant Researcher will need excellent computer, telephone and writing skills to assist Red Cross with raising money from Foundations, Corporate Foundations and Corporate Public Affairs Offices. The successful applicant will have substantial grant research and fundraising experience and will enjoy volunteering in a team oriented non-profit environment. Hours and days needed will be flexible and vary depending on the current projects as well as the availability of the volunteer. To learn more about volunteering please visit Volunteer.

A Graphic Designer will have extensive experience in creating brochures, flyers, letterhead, posters and invitations as well as other types of marketing and promotional materials. Please see Job Description . The successful applicant will enjoy volunteering in a team oriented non-profit environment. CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider - NEW - Two-Year Certification

Created to allow greater flexibility for those who maintain professional-level CPR/AED skills, this course is based on real-life rescue scenarios and lessons that reinforce apropriate decision making. Course work includes how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults chidren and infants, how to use an AED on adult and child victims of cardiac arrest and how to use personal protective equipment to stop bloodborne pathogens and other diseases from spreading.
